The silver agent is irreversibly bound to a polymer, so it becomes a physical part of the fiber. It is permanent and performance does not diminish over time. SILVER IS A METAL, not a chemical, WITH ANTIMICROBIAL/ ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES .

 Other companies have tried to add silver but they simply coated the outside of the fiber, which eroded with normal use and laundering. The new antibac microfiber Enviro Cloths will work as well as the current ones and collect bacteria from surfaces but the new microfiber cleaning cloths stop bacterial and fungal growth, within the cloths themselves.
